Here I am. I am going to start this blog to record some of my thoughts, mainly about life. Updates will be made hopefully on a daily basis.

We live on the earth. The question that haunted human beings for hundreds and thousands of years, even the most intelligent people, is the following one:

What makes a happy life?

Well, before we start thinking about it, let us first understand why this question is so important. People pursue happiness, because unhappiness makes one suffer. As human beings, we are unavoidably experiencing something unpleasant one time after another. Everyone knows how “unhappy” feels like. You may lose something you value so much. You may encounter countless failures. Something unexpected may also hit you hard. There are just so many things that make us unhappy, and it’s probably even beyond one’s ability to list them all.

OK. So what? Can you avoid these things altogether? No way! The truth is, every one of us is experiencing these kinds of unhappy things all the time, which can be either big or small. In this regard, you are never alone.

Since this subject is so common to every human being, people have developed many ways to deal with unhappiness. There are countless self-help books out there, and you may occasionally grab one in the bookstore nearby to look for an answer. However, there has never been a unique answer to it. Everyone needs to find his or her own way to deal with the unpleasant experiences that occurred in their lives.

We pursue happiness, in some way, this helps us deal with unhappiness. Because when we are in a state of happiness, the thoughts or feelings associated with unhappiness would not come to our minds. It is impossible to feel both happy and unhappy simutaneously. Happiness, in some sense, gives us a kind of relief from all the stress, hardship, and things we do not want to experience.

So here comes the question: what makes you happy?
